Welcome To Yate Women's Institute.

We are a  friendly, sociable group in Yate offering women of all ages a chance to meet with like-minded women for community and chat plus a varied programme of talks and activities

About the WI

The Women's Institute (WI) was formed in 1915 to revitalise rural communities and encourage women to become more involved in producing food during the First World War. Since then the organisation's aims have broadened and the WI is now the largest voluntary women's organisation in the UK.

The WI celebrated its centenary in 2015 and currently has almost 220,000 members in approximately 6,300 WIs.

The WI plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.

Meetings

Yate WI was formed in 2019.  We are a fun, friendly, chatty group and meet on the second Monday of the month at Poole Court, Yate, 7pm to 9pm.

During our meetings we have a variety of Speakers and Activities for everyone along with tea, coffee and biscuits and if someone has felt like baking, cake will be on the menu!

Yate WI has three sub-groups.  A walking group during Summer months, a Craft and Natter group and a Supper/Coffee Club.

Visitors and new members are always welcome, so why not come and join us for one or two meetings to try us out.
